Culture - The cultural festival Junkanoo is the most flamboyant way to recognize the Bahamian history and experience their many arts including Bahamian music & straw weaving. Thousands meet in colorful ornate costumes and headdresses. They dance in the streets to the Bahamian rhythmic music. The main celebration is held Dec. 26th and New Year's Day in Nassau but there are smaller celebrations throughout the year and around the islands.
